I'd like to leave car at onion valley.

Independence has the least of the three in terms of resupply options. So i'm planning on doing the entire jmt next year and need some advice. The only mistake i made was the distance. Death valley is a short day trip into the desolate desert, in fact, you can hike near the highest peak in the continental usa and then in the same day hike the lowest point at badwater basin which is 272 ft. I quickly got a ride from a new friend in lone pine to the trailhead at onion valley. I found shuttles were pricey, but the drives tend to be long and hard on vehicles in the sierras.
